RJGCI is a family business that passes down the trade.
Currently staffed by:
Rick, his son- Michael, his daughter- Sophia, his son-in-law- Dakota, + a collection of family friends.
This business is this family's life.
It runs on discipline, client advocacy, + many generations of remodeling experience.
Where it started:
From a young passion to a master carpenter. Rick's passion for woodworking spans decades.
His grandfather, Pappy Dulio, introduced him to what it's like to love the work you do + that feeling never left.
They spent many hours woodworking together. Rick watched, learned + tried the methods himself. Over the many years of practice + patience, this quality time grew into a thriving business.
Rick attended a cabinetry trade program, in high school, to reinforce his skills.
This earned him a job with a local cabinet company, Hyle's Custom Cabinets, while still in school.
In pursuit of expanding his skills, he dedicated 10 years to welding + fabricating at Highland Tank.
After that American LaFrance, a vehicle manufacturer, asked him to join their management team.
He spent 4 years there overseeing + building firetrucks for the community.
Rick also spent 15 years, as a subcontractor, servicing cabinet installations, for Yorktowne Cabinetry.
Fast forward
through decades of experience + skill building + that's where you'll find RJGCI.
Generated by Rick’s desire to provide for his growing family, he took a chance + went out on his own at 32 years old.
RJGCI started with a focus on building + repurposing furniture in 2002. Adding cabinetry services was his next endeavor. The business went by Rick Johnson's Furniture Repair, until 2008. As the services continued to expand it was time to match the name to its offerings.
Rick Johnson's General Contracting Inc. was born.
Many local builders relied on RJGCI for cabinet installations + other contracted labor.
